Two powerhouse restaurateurs—Bob Spivak and Chuck Frank—have teamed up to create Spivak & Frank, LLC, a restaurant development firm offering a full menu of services.
Spivak is the co-founder and former chief executive of The Grill on the Alley, the classic American chophouse that has been Hollywood’s first choice for power lunches for a quarter of a century. He leveraged the Beverly Hills hotspot into Grill Concepts Inc., which now operates 5 The Grill on the Alley and 22 Daily Grill restaurants around the nation.
Charles “Chuck” Frank has been a restaurant entrepreneur for 35 years, working with dozens of successful eateries in roles that include consultant, chief financial officer, chief operating officer and president.
Together, the duo has 80 years of experience in the business—creating restaurants from the ground up, helping others expand and grow, and fixing broken operations.
“Bob is the ultimate restaurateur,” says Frank of his partner (a onetime competitor and longtime friend). “He knows the equation of people—customers and employees. And he’s very creative. I’m a nuts-and-bolts guy. It’s a great combination.”
Adds Spivak: “Together we cover every aspect of what is needed to create a successful restaurant or build a multi-unit business. And more importantly, we won’t just tell our clients how to do it; we will do it with them.”
